About Me
"We now accept the fact that learning is a lifelong process of keeping abreast of change. And the most pressing task is to teach people how to learn." - Peter Drucker.
I love to learn! So much so that my favorite movies are documentaries, and my favorite activities include hiking, camping, fishing, and kayaking so I can observe the natural beauty that surrounds us. A night out for me will most likely include a museum, or a painting or dance class.
As a self-ascribed lifelong learner, I have always been committed to creating engaging and effective learning experiences for my learners. I hold a Masters Degree in Teaching and leveraged that with learning instructional design and development principles through the Applied Instructional Design Academy, which provided me with a strong foundation in adult learning principles, instructional design methodologies, and e-learning technologies. I quickly moved into a leadership position shortly after entering the field of instructional design where I can merge my love of instructional design with my passion for positioning others for success.
My approach to instructional design is based on understanding the learners' needs and creating personalized learning experiences that meet their unique learning styles and preferences. I believe learning should be interactive, engaging, and relevant to the learners' goals and objectives. Therefore, I use a variety of instructional strategies, such as gamification, scenario-based learning, and microlearning, to make learning more effective and enjoyable.
